Birley Community Pre-School

We are a "not for profit" registered Charity based at St. Cyprians Church Hall, Birchvale Road, Sheffield, S12 4XY. We pride ourselves on good quality childcare and education. We have a caring and professional staff team of Early Educators who are all qualified to level 3 or above.

You and your child will always be greeted by the same staff team each day to foster good relationships and give you consistency of care. We take children from 6 months to 4 years 11 months. 

We provide places for the 15/30 hours funded entitlement for children from 9 months old, starting in September 2025 fo workking parents.  We also provide places for the funded 15 hours 3 and 4 year olds as well as the extended 15 hours funded entitlement, making 30 hours for children of working parents.

On our last Ofsted Inspection we were graded as "Good". 

We cater for children from 6 months to 4 years 11 months.

We open Monday - Friday 8.00am until 5.00pm

Eligibility criteria for your service and any priority groups

We take children with special educational needs and disabilities providing our setting can meet their needs. This is always assessed on an indiviual basis with parents, ourselves and other professionals.

Staffing arrangements/training to support children or young people with SEND

As we are a charity we are run by a board of trustees and have a small staff team of 10 who work with the children on a daily basis. All staff are highly training in working with children with SEND and Jayne Humphreys is the SENCO for the setting.

Number of funded places depends on the age of the child and the availability each term.

We are a registered charity and therefore do not make a profit. We aim to provide the families and children who use our services good quality care in a calm, friendly and welcoming environment where children can explore, experiment  and thrive under the care of experienced and long standing staff who have extensive childcare knowledge and experience.
