Outwood Academy City is an inclusive mainstream school for pupils aged 11 to 16. It has been part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust since January 2014. It was previously known as The City School. As part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust, the school has worked hard to improve standards. Academic results at the school have improved significantly since conversion.

The school has about 1000 pupils in years 7 to 11. It has no sixth form provision. The catchment area for the school includes areas of Normanton Spring, Woodhouse West, Richmond, Intake and Woodthorpe.
