Our services:
Sheffield Complex Needs
The Sheffield Project is located in central Sheffield. We provide accommodation and support for vulnerable and homeless individuals, including those with complex needs.
The Sheffield project provides support in properties managed by ourselves for those individuals who have found it difficult sustaining a tenancy. Our aim is to support the individual towards independent living and addressing issues such as benefits and tenancy support, budgeting, managing bills, debt advice/management as well as signposting to other specific charities & organisations across the region.
Referrals for the accommodation project must be made by Sheffield City Council through the Sheffield Housing Pathway (0114 273 6306 or via email on housingadviceandoptions@sheffield.gov.uk between 8:30am and 5:00pm weekdays). If you require housing in an emergency outside of these hours, please contact 0800 731 1689.
Please note, we cannot accept direct referrals for accommodation.
The objective of SHAP is to increase the supply of high-quality accommodation with accompanying intensive support to address gaps in homelessness pathway provision for single entrenched rough sleepers in Sheffield. SHAP will be targeted at those with the longest histories of rough sleeping or the most complex needs, to help them recover from rough sleeping and its associated traumas. The focus will be on longer-term accommodation for up to three years. The design of SHAP accommodation will meet the needs of the target client groups and provide a safe and comfortable environment where individual can be supported to maintain their accommodation and receive support to address areas such as mental health, addiction, physical health inequalities, and social and economic support.
Service users will have access to an allocated caseworker and a forensic psychologist who can offer flexible, and trauma informed 1:1 therapy whilst accessing the service.
Referrals are made through Sheffield City councils RACMN panel meeting to discuss the housing of individuals with complex support needs.
The LIFT project provides social care support to those who are experiencing mental health difficulties and/or those who have a learning difficulty. Support is tailored to the individual, and can be provided alongside accommodation or on an outreach basis depending on need. The service operates with a focus on recovery and supporting growth towards independence, and we recognise that this may mean something different for each individual we support. We are able to work with people requiring both long or short-term support and/or accommodation.
The MHLD service is a provider on Sheffield City Council’s Independence and Support Framework, and also the Learning Disability Supported Living Framework. As such referrals, should be made via the appropriate Framework pathway with SCC. All our service users have been assessed by a professional within SCC as having eligible social care needs, and have a personal budget allocated to them to meet these needs.
Our service caters for adults who because of a mental illness require enhanced care and support. The age range will be 18-65.
We provide a bespoke and individualised support offer according to the person’s assessment and agreed care and support plans which have been developed in partnership with the person and any close relatives or supporters (if the person wishes).
GROWTH Project
We are thrilled to announce that Target Housing have been successful in our bid to The National Lottery Community Fund for a female specific service.
The 18 month project, named Growth will support women who are homeless and have experienced multiple child removal. This group of women are often stigmatised and have faced multiple adverse experiences and complex trauma.
We pride ourselves on providing holistic and person-centred support throughout the asylum journey. We support individuals and families throughout their asylum process while finding them accommodation and helping them navigate their local communities. Our ‘wraparound’ services also include advice, signposting and advocacy on issues such as housing, education, training, employment, budgeting and health. Working with partners we offer accredited ESOL, therapeutic support and short-term workshops. Call us on the number below.
Domestic abuse
In Sheffield, the South Yorkshire Project are working in partnership with IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Service) to provide emergency temporary accommodation to people fleeing domestic abuse. The service is aimed at supporting GBT+ (gay, bisexual, trans, and all minority sexual and gender identities), male victims of domestic abuse as well as single women who have multiple and complex needs and for whom Sheffield’s refuges would not be suitable. This Project is called Safe Zones.
