Housteads is a 40-bedroom care home set in beautiful gardens and woodland. Residents enjoy spending time outside in the garden or watching the birds and squirrels from their windows. Our home is highly recommended by families, friends, and social workers, who describe it as warm, homely, and family-like. There are no set visiting hours, so family and friends are welcome anytime. We have a team of staff who work closely together, ensuring residents receive consistent care and build trusting relationships. Our Care Plan Coordinator works with each resident and their family to create a personalized care plan tailored to their needs and preferences. We encourage independence and dignity while providing services like laundry, GP visits, hairdressing, and more.
We are located near local shops, pubs, and restaurants, just 4 miles from Sheffield city center and on a bus route. Our spacious function room is used for family gatherings, celebrations, and activities like gardening, arts and crafts, and flower arranging. Residents also enjoy visits from therapy dogs, miniature ponies, and local schoolchildren through the Adopt a Care Home program. We organize outings, including barge trips, cinema visits, tea dances, and community events.
The lounges are sociable spaces where residents can spend time together. We offer a variety of home-cooked meals, including favorites like meat and potato pie, fish and chips, and stew. Our cooks also make special meals for those with different tastes. Snacks are available throughout the day, and we make sure everyone’s preferences are met.
