Sheffield Wednesday Alternative Provision
At SWFCCP, we will structure our provision to cover content related to the fitness/Health/ sport industry, with a specific focus on football for engagement purposes. We use the power of football and the brand of SWFC to re-engage learners in education.
KS2 re-integration program aims to develop soft skills to assist a return to mainstream school. Positive mindset, pyhsical literacy, fundamental movement skills, gross and fine motor skills, all tailored around sport. English, Math’s, and other subjects will be used in the sports hall with football as the main focus. Students will take part in and learn numerous different sports to broaden their knowledge producing a well-rounded, skillful young person. Sessions will actively promote positive behavior within the learner, such as respect, innovation, challenge, and happiness. Furthermore, sessions will encourage learners to develop their social, emotional, and mental health.
Key stage3/4 re-integration and vocational program and girls only program – key skills will include digital, English, Math’s, Science, IT and employment as well as social skills all tailored around sport and football. Students will be able to study fitness/sport AQA awards and year 11s will undertake the NCFE level one in sport giving them the opportunity to progress through to our post 16 education program. We will work across 3 areas, vocational knowledge in sport, fitness, and health, embedding of key skills and personal and social development. Students will be supported with employability skills, social and emotional development.
The aim of the program is to re-integrate students back into mainstream school, provide pathways to post 16 education and employment. Bespoke days will be held during the program such as Anti-Knife crime, mental health workshops and career inspiration.
