Bradfield Dungworth Primary School

Bradfield Dungworth Primary is a small rural school on the outskirts of Sheffield, 6 miles from the city centre; it enjoys the largest primary school catchment area in the city, most of which is within the Peak District National Park. It's 136 children come from a widespread area, with many living several miles away and coming to school by bus.

Our school was originally built in 1841 and has been improved and extended several times over the years. It now has 5 large and airy classrooms housed within the main building. We also have a modern, purpose-built hall of 200 square metres, with its own toilets and production kitchen which provides freshly cooked meals enjoyed by around 90% of the children. The hall is part of a partnership with the community and there is an agreement for shared use.

We have a well-equipped adventure play area to the side of the hall and a compact playground with a small garden and an 'Arty Nest' which provides a quiet area for art and science activities. In Summer 2020 we built a  new eco classroom - 'The Burrow' to support outdoor learning and provide space to support pupils emotional health and well-being and small group work.
