Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind (SRSB) provides opportunity, support, friendship and services to blind partially sighted people in Sheffield, helping them to achieve whatever they wish to do and whatever they aspire to be. SRSB is a registered charity..
In the Community
Many of our services are delivered within the community, across Sheffield, including in people's own homes and are supported by the facilities at our Mappin Street Centre and our Residential Care Home in Crosspool. The services available are:
- Community Advice Officers - SRSB has a team of 9 Community Advice Officers who offer a comprehensive support and advice service to our clients in the community.
- Eye Clinic Liaison Officer - SRSB's Eye Clinic Liaison Officers are a point of contact at the hospital to provide information and advice to blind and partially sighted people, family members and carers at the time they are given a diagnosis about their sight loss.
- Postal activity packs
- Telecontact - We aim to contact our clients by phone every six to twelve months. Volunteers make a courtesy call to check that the client is well and establish if they require any further support.
- Telefriends
- Befriending
- Computer support.

- Sheffield Cafe VIPs - Sheffield's Cafe VIPs is open from 10am to 3pm.
- Sheffield Coffee Mornings
- Sheffield and Rotherham Cuppa and Quiz
- Sheffield Souper Special - have a soup and a roll
- Evening entertainers
- Sheffield Tech and equipment drop in days
- Equipment advice - Our Equipment Advisor offers advice on an extensive range of products, all designed to help people with sight loss maintain their independence. He is available Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 1:30pm.

Self Help and Support Groups
SRSB/RSS encourage people with specific sight and/or hearing loss conditions to meet on a regular basis to share experiences, access information specifc to their circumstances etc. Current groups are:
