The Hive - Day Centre and specialist support for adults with learning disabilities
At The Hive we provide activities that are meaningful, creative, expressive, educational, developmental, but most importantly, FUN!
Our sessions are based around:Life Skills, Basic Skills, Arts & Crafts, Music & Movement, Drama, Exercise and Well-being. As well as our activities on site we also offer lots of off site activities too. Our most popular outings are: cycling, swimming, bowling, trampolining, visiting museums & galleries, attending local events, going to the theatre, glamping, trips on the barge, visiting the zoo and much more.
Providing social interaction, social inclusion, and self development.
As well as our Day Service we also provide One to One support, for individuals that have some additional care and support needs.
The Hive can provide a dedicated support worker or a specialist team, to help and support to live a more independent life. Our Support Workers can assist in attending appointments, go shopping, visit family, join in the activities at The Hive, join local community groups, visit places within your local or wider community, it is totally up to you.
The Hive at the Victoria Centre. The Victoria Centre has disabled access, on-site disabled parking, a lift to all floors, and has disabled toilet facilities on all floors.
The Centre has office space, a café area, a catering kitchen, a hall and function rooms, all available to hire.
The Centre is easily accessible by bus, the 7, 8 & 120 services are minutes away, there is ample on street parking, and is also close to the super tram and Sheffield Train Station.
The Centre is close to local shops and amenities, such as the Amphitheatre, Norfolk Park, Monument Park, S1 Artspace, and the Park Library.

Our service is small and friendly, providing a safe and fun environment for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities & autism. Our activity range includes:
Independent living skills

laundry, cooking, cleaning, road safety awareness training, stranger danger, safe places awareness
Creative skills

writing, painting, drawing, craft work, textiles, paper-making, clay work & pottery
Developmental skills

reading, money, time, budgeting, maths, spelling
Being active

walking, cycling, swimming, gardening, bowling
As well as recreation

cinema, theatre, museums, galleries, day trips, zoo’s, wildlife parks, shopping
We are able to offer a wide range of different activities as our groups are small and our staffing ratio is high, so no two days are the same. We like to offer a service that is flexible, and we are always looking for something new to try, or to get involved with. The Hive also provides events & workshops with other services/ professionals/ partnerships to offer unique opportunities to our Service Users.

One to one support:
Your Support - Your Way
The Hive's One to One Support Service can provide you with a dedicated Support Worker or Team, to promote your independence. Your Support Worker can help you to attend appointments, go shopping, visit family, join in the activities at The Hive, join local community groups, visit places within your local or wider community, it is totally up to you.

For information about our pricing for our Day Service & One to One Support simply contact us and will be happy to advise you. The Hive welcomes those who are in receipt of a Direct Payment.
