Arbourthorne Tenants & Residents Association

Our TARA is a registered Charity run by a small group of volunteers who form the Committee.

These are officers from within the Arbourthorne Area, elected at the Annual AGM which takes place every May. Everyone is welcome and expressions of interest from anyone wishing to join the Committee are considered.

We offer various activities throughout the year which comprises of the below:

For Children (Accompanied by Adults / Parents)

• Easter Party / Spring Fling
• Fun Day
• Halloween Party
• Christmas Party

For Adults

• Pie ‘n’ Pea Supper
• Christmas Dinner

Yearly Events

• Day Trip – Which is the last Sunday in July
• Christmas Markets
• Pantomime

Weekly Events

• Lunch Club – Warm Welcome – Every Monday from 12:00 noon
• Bingo – Every Wednesday - Doors open at 5:00pm for refreshments & Bingo starts at around 6:00pm

We hold Committee Meetings as and when needed and anyone can come along.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding housing, your estates or any other issues we will consider them (must be in writing) and take to the appropriate authorities. We will also answer any questions you may have regarding the TARA and what we offer.

Hopefully the activities we offer will benefit the whole community and well-being of the Tenants and Residents of the Arbourthorne and surrounding areas.

The Centre is accessible to anyone wishing to join us. Everyone receives the same welcome.

Levy

Council Tenants pay 10p per week with their rent if opted in.

Residents (Homeowners – Social Housing – Not residing in the Arbourthorne Area) pay £5 at the beginning of April annually. The levy entitles the household to partake in the parties and events offered.

The TARA in its current format has been running since 2006 which means it is our 20-year anniversary next year. We plan to mark this occasion at our Fun Day at the beginning of August 2026, so if you can, we would like to invite you to join us and celebrate with us.
