The Sapphire Project

The Sapphire Project is a registered charity that provides structured day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, with a focus on education, personal growth, and progression. The project supports individuals to build confidence, develop practical life skills, and increase independence through meaningful activities and real-life experiences.

Support is delivered through a person-centred approach, working with individuals, families, and professionals to understand each person’s goals and interests. Participants take part in a range of activities including cooking, creative workshops, community outings, and practical tasks at Hillsborough Arena such as supporting events, helping in the café, or gardening. These opportunities help individuals develop transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, and responsibility.

Alongside learning and development, the project ensures activities remain social, engaging, and enjoyable, helping people build friendships and confidence. Individuals are supported to progress at their own pace, with some going on to volunteering or paid employment as their confidence and skills develop.
