Sheffield Sensory Library by Autism Plus
The Sheffield Sensory Library is a place where you can borrow sensory equiptment and trial the items at home, to find something to suit your needs. Using sensory equiptment helps to engage and develop motor skills, encourage interaction and communication and can be a calming or stimulating influence.
There is a variety of resources available for loan, including fidgets, massagers, gym balls, CD's, disco balls and projectors. The complete catalogue is available online.
For a small depoist you can loan items for up to 3 weeks with the deposit refunded when the goods are returned in a good condition. The library also has an iPad where you can trial Apps, although this is not available to hire. The library provides a perfect opportunity to trial equipment at home before committing to buy from elsewhere.
