Stannington Library is managed by STAND (Stannington and District Library Group). The library is run by a team of dedicated volunteers.

The library has books to borrow. As well as books owned by Sheffield Libraries, Stannington Library has its own collection of Yellow Sticker books. Currently there are around 9000 Yellow Sticker books available for loan and we are adding new books every month.

We have 3 computers available for the public to use. Call in or phone to book a session. This is free to members of the library. Non-members can also use the computers for a small charge.

The computers all have Microsoft Office and access to the Internet, as well as other useful software. There's also some software aimed at our younger library members: Scratch, Kodu and a few other fun programs.

You can print from the computers - A4 Black & White copies cost 10p. Colour, back to back and size A3 are available too - but these cost more.  There is also a photocopying service.

The following clubs are run at the library - see the website for full details:

• Storytime - Wednesday afternoon - 2 to 3.15pm during term time.
• Babytime - every other Thursday afternoon 2 to 3.15pm during term time.
• Stannington Gardening club - meets on the first Thursday of the month.
• WiSE – Writers in Stannington and Ecclesfield - meets on the first Saturday every month.
• Tuesday Friendship Group - this meets in the library on the first Tuesday of the month.
• Tea and Cakes in the Library - held on the second Saturday of the month 2 to 4pm
