NSPCC Sheffield Service Centre

A national registered charity working on several different services:

Letting the Future In - for children and young people aged 4-17 who have been affected by sexual abuse

Letting the Future In’ is a service for children and young people aged 4-17 who have experienced sexual abuse. It is a chance for you to have longer term one to one support to share your thoughts and feelings. We also like to offer some sessions of support to your carer. At the end of the one to one support, joint sessions can be offered to you and your carer to support your relationship to one another.

Hear and Now- A service for children aged 4-18 years old who may have experienced sexual abuse, and where there has not been a disclosure. ‘Hear and Now’ offers 1-1 therapeutic support for children to explore their wishes and feelings in a safe space. We also offer sessions for parents and carers alongside this work.

Reflective Fostering Programme - Helping foster carers achieve a reflective parenting style to support them to provide high quality and sensitive care for their foster children.

The Reflective Fostering Programme is a group work service that aims to support foster carers to build strong and positive relationships with their foster children, to help promote placement stability and support the child’s healthy emotional and behavioural development. We will work with foster carers who are caring for a child between the ages of 4 and 11 years where there may be difficulties in the carer/child relationship or where there are high levels of stress for the child or the carer.

Taking Care - previously worked in partnership with Sheffield City Council with looked after children and currently working in partnership with Rotherham Social Care Services.

The Taking Care of Looked After Children service works in partnership with statutory services and seeks to enhance decision making regarding whether or not a child should return home from care. It also aims to develop support packages following decisions being made. Referrals are made to Sheffield NSPCC via our partner agencies.

Protect and Respect In partnership with Sheffield Sexual Exploitation Services, the NSPCC is providing preventative and protective services to young people who have been sexually exploited or vulnerable to this form of abuse. As part of our protective services we are running socio educative groups in schools raising awareness of CSE.We also offer one to one support to vulnerable young people who have participated in the group but need some extra support. Alongside direct work we also offer training to teaching staff and parent support
