Overview
Trauma has a profound impact on our bodies and minds. It often relates to the most challenging times a person has encountered and can be a single incident or multiple experiences. As a result of these experiences people’s view of the world and how they feel can drastically shift to feeling unsafe. Due to the high prevalence of trauma in the population and the significant impact it can have during the perinatal period and beyond is critical. Trauma can also provide opportunities for growth and resilience and everyone will have a differing reaction to trauma.
