BITESIZE (BASIC) - PERINATAL TRAINING LEVEL 1

Overview
The perinatal period, which includes pregnancy and postnatal (baby 1) is a time of increased vulnerability for birthing people and the impact of untreated can have a significant impact upon babies and families. This window also provides an opportunity for change with increased contact with a range of health professionals. Early identification is critical and therefore it is important that health professionals are aware of red flags and how to sign post to appropriate services. This training seeks to provide a very brief snapshot into the pertinent issues, including how to identify and signpost.
