Safer Sleep Awareness Training

This session gives staff the essential knowledge and confidence to share safe‑sleep messages with families and help reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) across Sheffield. SIDS affects babies under 1 year old with over 90% of cases occurring before 6 months. 

You will learn:
• What SIDS is and key ways to reduce the risk
• Why safer sleep advice is everyone’s responsibility
• How to give clear, sensitive guidance on co sleeping
• How factors like damp/mold can impact infant safety
• The risks of Carbon Monoxide and how to advise families
