• Understand the role of UC childcare support in helping parents enter, sustain, and progress in employment.
• Identify who may be eligible for childcare support, including key target groups such as lone parents and second earners.
• Explain the two types of support available—ongoing childcare cost reimbursement and help with upfront childcare costs.
• Recognise the importance of early engagement with Jobcentre Plus, enabling timely claims and access to support.
• Spot opportunities to refer and signpost parents who could benefit from UC childcare support within their day to day roles.
