Kitchen Trolley or Buckingham Caddy

If you have difficulty carrying your meal or drinks to eat at a table or in another room you may wish to consider the following items.

Buckingham Caddy

If you use a zimmer frame, the Buckingham Walking Frame Caddy has been developed to enable you to safely transport a variety of daily living items. These can be supplied with a tray, that is designed to safely transport a plate of food, and a mug holder, which holds any spillages.

Kitchen Trolley

Wheeled trollies usually have 2 trays on a frame with 4 castor wheels. They are not a substitute for a walking aid as they are not designed to support the weight of an individual and have caster wheels which can move too quickly for someone with mobility difficulties.

We have a list of local suppliers of equipment in the directory:

Things to consider

Make sure there is enough circulation space for items to be used in the kitchen and equipment does not pose a trip hazzard.

High thresholds within the property may make using wheeled equipment more challenging.

It is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and observe weight limits.
