From 1 to 7 August, Sheffield will celebrate World Breastfeeding Week with a series of picnic style community events, led by the city’s Infant Feeding Peer Support team.
This year’s theme is, “Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems,”
Breastfeeding is good for babies and mums, but it’s not always easy. That’s why support really matters – from your family, your friends, your workplace, and your local services.
This week is about showing what support is out there and reminding families that you don’t have to do it alone.
The week launches with this event at the Sheffield Winter Garden.
Families and professionals are invited to bring a picnic, celebrate breastfeeding and find out about local support.
Further park events taking place
- Monday 4th August (10am-12pm) Graves Park
- Tuesday 5th August (10am-12pm) Ponderosa Park
- Wednesday 6th August (10am-12pm) Norfolk Park
The week will close with an event led by Breastfeeding in Sheffield at Meadowhall which is a breastfeeding friendly public space where the iconic dome will have been lit up pink in support of World Breastfeeding Week.
