As children’s short breaks homes are highly regulated there is a strict admission process as set out in the Children Act 2004. Parent carers cannot apply for provision directly to the homes because a qualified social worker must complete an assessment of need and create a plan prior to placement. The process for entry to a residential short breaks home is as follows: Contact your social worker if you have one. If you do not have a social worker then contact the Hub on 0114 273 4855. A qualified Social Worker will be in touch to perform an assessment. The social worker will make recommendations to their Senior Fieldwork Manager for approval.
