Talking Therapies (formerly called IAPT) provides support with anxiety, stress and depression which can be associated with living with a long-term health condition.

IAPT can support people with:

  • musculoskeletal issues and chronic pain
  • fatigue
  • diabetes
  • health anxiety 
  • heart conditions
  • IBS
  • Long Covid
  • respiratory conditions
  • skin conditions
  • cancer (following treatment)
  • tinnitus.

They provide a range of short-term talking therapies that are available to help anyone (aged 18 or over who lives or works in Sheffield) experiencing stress, anxiety or depression. You can book an assessment online or you can call 0114 226 4380.

They also provide a series of self-help guides that are designed to help you to explore and understand some of the ways you're feeling and offer practical ways to help yourself.

The guides are available as leaflets or in audiobook format and cover a range of feelings, including:

  • anxiety
  • anger
  • bereavement
  • depression
  • panic
  • postnatal depression
  • sleeping problems
  • stress.

Talking Therapies also have Employment Advisors that can offer you free confidential advice and support to help you stay in work or return to work after a break. Their employment support is provided by Sheffield Occupational Health Advisory Service (SOHAS).
